Advice for Track Runners: The Nike Rival Multi Track & Field Multi-Event Spikes are very verstatile. Suitable for a range of different track & field events such as sprints, hurdle events, jumps and the pole vault.
They are particularly good if you are trying out different events and trying to decide which events you like best.
Underfoot Feel
The key thing to understand is that there is some cushioning at the heel; designed to provide comfort over short and middle distances, and hurdles and jumps. There is more cushioning at the heel than you may find in sprint specific track spikes; however, there is less cushioning than you are likely to find in track spikes designed for distances longer than middle distances.
A 3/4-length spike plate provides a sturdy platform to help you sprint on your toes.
Upper Fit
The upper has a number of features designed to improve comfort and performance, including:
- An arch band for midfoot support;
- No-sew overlays for support at the heel;
- Overlays at the tips of the toes for durability;
- A padded collar; and
- Forefoot mesh layered with reinforcement - for breathability and durability.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Rival Multi Track & Field Multi-Event Spikes are for track events ranging from 100m to 1500m, including hurdles and jumps.
We do not recommend using these Nike spikes for anything other than their intended purpose.
Important Sizing Note: When buying unisex Nike spikes please refer to the size guides and choose your size based on the EU sizing. The conversion for UK sizes 6 and below differs slightly from road or trail running shoes.
Note that spikes are designed to be snug and secure, limiting lateral movement while providing drive onto the running surface. They are manufactured quite small in comparison to road or trail running shoes. To ensure a secure fit and optimum performance, we recommend your spikes being at least a full size bigger than your regular shoe size.
