Advice for Road Runners: Race to the finish line with the Nike Men's Vaporfly 3 Road Racing Shoes in the White/DK Smoke Grey-Particle Grey colourway.
Underfoot Feel
The Vaporfly 3 is designed to feel fast. There is a full-length carbon fibre plate which provides a rigid and propulsive feel. It is certainly not all about the carbon fibre plate. The ZoomX foam in the midsole is more responsive than previous ZoomX foam.
The midsole bulges out at the heel to help with stability. A great feature when you are likely to be putting a lot of force through these running shoes.
Nike updated the outsole so that it maintains its durability, but has less weight and thickness in comparison with previous Vaporfly outsoles. A thinner outsole doesn't only save weight; it means that the amount of ZoomX foam underneath your feet can be increased.
The combination of a carbon fibre plate and better ZoomX foam produces a highly cushioned and propulsive underfoot feel.
Upper Fit
Everything about the design of the upper is geared towards comfort during fast runs over significant distances. You should find it possible to customise the fit of the upper to a greater extent than previous Vaporfly uppers. The toe box is wider. A wider toe box means more room for your toes to spread out as your feet warm-up during your run.
The upper is highly breathable - which is essential for long distance runs.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Men's Vaporfly 3 Road Racing Shoes are for racing distances from 10K to the marathon. We know that some runners will do some training in these shoes. It makes perfect sense to get used to the shoes that you will use on race day. These carbon fibre plated running shoes should help you to run faster during your races. We recommend that - as much as possible - you keep them for race day (and some faster training runs).
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
