Underfoot Feel

Propulsive. The combination of Nike's ZoomX foam and a carbon fibre plate results in a midsole that helps you to move forward at speed. If you've run in previous editions of the Vaporfly, you should expect the Vaporfly 3's ZoomX foam to return more energy than previous versions of the famous foam. 

If you are wearing these shoes for a races ranging from the 10K to the marathon, the reality is that you'll have the shoes on your feet for a while. You should be able to notice that the midsole bulges out at the heel. That midsole bulge is to help with stability - which can really help in the latter part of a race when you are tired.

The Waffle pattern on the outsole provides traction on hard ground. 

Upper Fit

The Vaporfly 3's upper is made using specifically selected Flyknit yarns. The offset lacing helps to alleviate pressure on the tops of your feet. There is a lot of breathability around the forefoot - which should help to prevent your feet from becoming too warm.

Ideal Run Type

The Nike Men's Vaporfly 3 Road Racing Shoes are best kept for race day. The ideal distances for the Vaporfly 3 range from the 10K to the marathon. For maximum benefit from these shoes, we recommend using them more or less exclusively for races and some faster training sessions. If keeping them for race day, it is still a good idea to complete some training runs in them so that your feet and legs get used to them.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
